Winter Sports

Bogus Basin is the closest mountain for anyone in the Boise area. Enjoy Nordic and downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowtubing and amazing views of the Treasure Valley as you tackle the terrain.

 

Winter Garden aGlow

Winter Garden aGlow is a magnificent display of lights and decorations arranged throughout the Idaho Botanical Garden at night. Join us this holiday season as the Garden is transformed into a twinkling wonderland.

 

Ice Skating

Get in the winter spirit by ice skating at the new Glide on Grove or at the Village at Meridian. You'll be surrounded by Christmas decorations and music as you skate the day away!

 

Sledding

Located in the North End, Camel's Back Park sees hundreds of sledders every winter. It is perfect for all ages as there is a variety of terrain to ride, from the main big hill to smaller spots around the park.

 

The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker plays every year in Boise at the Morrison Center the week leading up to Christmas. Ballet Idaho puts on the performance and over 100 children from the Ballet Idaho Academy perform as well.

 

McCall Winter Carnival

The increasingly popular McCall Winter Carnival takes place towards the end of January in McCall, Idaho. It is a week filled with beautiful snow sculptures, a parade, fireworks over Payette Lake and live events.

 

Hot Springs

If you want a quick trip to the mountains, head up to The Springs Resort in Idaho City. The Springs has natural hot springs pools overlooking the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains.

 

Cut Down a Christmas Tree
